Indication: Indicated for Expelling Intestinal Parasites.
Actions: Vermifuge – Expelling Intestinal Parasites; Warming Viscera, Middle Burner, Large Intestine; Draining Heat; Replenishing Qi; Promoting Xue Circulation; Relieving pain.
Syndromes: Intestinal Parasites: Stomach Heat; Large Intestine Cold.
Symptoms and signs: Pain, intermittent abdominal distension around the umbilicus (improves with heat and pressure), cold extremities, sensation of heat in the chest/epigastrium, irritability, cloudy urine, vomiting of roundworms after eating, bitter taste, pale complexion, chronic dysentery/diarrhea. Roundworms (Ascariasis): abdominal pain, vomiting of roundworms, and cold lower extremities. Nematodes (Hookworms): craving to eat foreign objects: soil, wax, raw rice, or tea leaves. Enterobiasis (Pinworms): anal itching, which worsens at night. Taeniasis: polyphagia.
Tongue: geographic tongue.
Coating: white, thin/thick.
Pulse: weak, slow.
