102 – YIN QIAO SAN

The Chinese formula Yin Qiao San, also known by its English name Lonicera and Forsythia Combination, belongs to the category of formulas that RELIEVE SUPERFICIAL WIND-HEAT, acting on the initial stage of febrile illnesses caused by Toxic Wind-Heat (Wei Qi); Toxic Wind-Heat.

Indication: Indicated for Toxic Wind-Heat (pyogenic) in the Wei Qi layer: Tonsillitis, acute otitis, purulent conjunctivitis, dermatological infections.

Actions: Clear the surface; Disperse exogenous toxic heat; Eliminate toxins; Eliminate superficial Toxic Wind-Heat syndrome.

Syndromes: Initial stage of febrile illnesses caused by Toxic Wind-Heat (Wei Qi); Toxic Wind-Heat.

Symptoms and signs: High fever and (moderate) aversion to cold concomitantly, anhidrosis or little perspiration (cephalic), moderate thirst, cough, headache, (intense) sore throat (phlegmon/pyogenic), pyogenic skin lesions, pyogenic nasal or eye discharge, earaches, otorrhea.

Tongue: reddish tip
