The Chinese Formula Ge Gen Tang, also known by its English name Puerariae Combination, belongs to the category of formulas that RELIEVE SUPERFICIAL COLD WIND, acting on syndromes of Tai Yang Injury by Exogenous Cold Wind; Tai Yang and Yang Ming Syndrome simultaneously.

Indication: Indicated to Disperse Cold Wind affecting the Tai Yang (neck, dorsal, and lumbar stiffness/pain, fever, aversion to cold, lack of sweating): Early stage of Arboviruses (Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya…).

Actions: Promote sweating to relieve the exterior; disperse exogenous cold wind; relieve pain in neck and dorsal muscles; generate body fluids (Jin Ye).

Syndromes: Tai Yang injury due to Exogenous Cold Wind; Tai Yang and Yang Ming syndrome simultaneously.

Symptoms and Signs: Fever with intense aversion to cold, neck pain and stiffness (Tai Yang), lack of sweating, gastric fullness (Yang Ming), vomiting (Yang Ming), diarrhea (Yang Ming), oliguria, trismus (Yang Ming).
